DST(Dye sublimation transfer)
DST(Dye sublimation transfer) is a digital printing technique whose core principle is the use of heat to convert solid dyes directly into a gaseous state, allowing them to penetrate and become fixed on the substrate surface. The specific process involves first printing the design onto dedicated transfer paper using inks containing sublimation dyes, then closely laminating the transfer paper with the substrate (typically polyester-based fabrics or coated rigid materials) using a heat press, and heating to approximately 180–230°C. At high temperatures, the dyes sublime and permeate into the polymer molecular gaps on the material surface; upon cooling, they re-solidify and fuse with the material. This process requires no water washing, produces vibrant colors, resists scratching, and yields breathable finished products. However, it is primarily suited for polyester fibers, and pure cotton fabrics require special pretreatment before they can be used.
